NATHAN SCOTT PORTFOLIO WELCOMES YOU
WHO AM I?

My Name is Nathan Scott I 18 soon to be 19 and I am currently studying for a BA in media at Stirling College/University. I work part-time in a restaurant as a busboy/waiter.
My goalÂ
I want love to be a writer for TV shows as I have always seen myself as a storyteller and I love telling narrative stories with good chemistry with the characters in my scripts. The main reason I want to write for TV instead of films is I love story with continuity and ongoing story Arcs and I feel like you can't fit that into a 2-hour long movie.
MEDIA PROJECTS
I have had quite an eventful first year of my BA course I have done a number of media projects like news stories and a documentary which is about life after lockdown have a look at them down below.

LIFE AFTER LOCKDOWN DOCUMENTARY
THE NEW STUDENT LIFE
This is a news story I did on my brother who is both in high school and primary school respectively and has both faced different challages when it comes to their education.
WRITTEN NEWS STORY
Written version of the story down below
Ever since the covid-19 pandemic hit in March of 2020 students from high school and primary have been forest to do all of their learning from home and after exams being called cancelled relativity quickly as the UK went into full forces lockdown, many students were worried about their future especially when it came to their exams going forward. However, after the news that the schools while be going back in august with some students only going on for half days and certain days many students began to panic wondering what would happen with exams front as the biggest fear for most students was their overall grades.
This was the case for 15-year-old Aaron who has high hopes of going to university someday to study however with the schools not knowing if exams were not going ahead after. After studying multiple subjects, he was fearing that it would all be a waste of time however in early February it was announced that some exams were going forward. For some students, this is a huge relief but for students sitting their exam for the first time, the pressure of sitting it the first time will be never racking but it’s not just high school students who are having a hard time a lot of primary school kids are fearing going up to high school as due to the pandemic they are unable to get a high school interdiction.
This is the case for 12-year-old Finlay who is anxiously waiting to see if a high school interdiction will go ahead but due to the restrictions being lifted very late in the school year it doesn’t look like it.
GET GREGGS TO BUTTER BOTH SIDES OF THEIR SANDWICHES
This is a news story I did on the Facebook campaign which was started by Chris Davies on getting Greggs to butter both sides of their sandwiches.
Greggs are one of the most popular bakeries in Scotland and the UK as a whole well known for their sausage rolls cakes and of course sandwiches. However, have you ever wondered why they only butter one piece of all of their sandwiches? This is what Chris Davies wonder one day when he went to his local Greggs and asked why they only buttered one side. Chris was a local customer at his Greggs and never realised that only one side was buttered until he ordered a sandwich and realised it. Chris originally thought it was a money-saving exercise but after asking if that was the case a Greggs worker said no and that it all part of their recipes and that every piece of bread only one side gets is buttered. Chris took to social media and made his point clear about how Gregg only butter one side of their sandwiches and rather quickly a lot of people commented on his post some saying that they think it is a money-saving exercise and somewhere rather surprised that they only buttered one side and even Greggs them self-commented on Chris post apologising for only buttering one side. Later that same day a get Greggs to buttered both sides of bread campaign started which was spearheaded by Chris himself in an attempt to get Greggs to butter both sides. The campaign has about 35 members so far and like Chris original post many people have taken to the comment section to voice their option and for Greggs to hear their cries to have both pieces of bread buttered. So fair Greggs has not commented on the campaign page however many people including Chris are trying their very best to get Greggs attention and make them butter of pieces of their sandwiches going forward.
